Release Date: October 29 | Cast: Diane Lane, Kyle Chandler, Dylan O’Brien, Phoebe Dynevor
Roadside Attractions and Lionsgate have officially unveiled the gripping trailer for Anniversary, a political thriller directed by acclaimed filmmaker Jan Komasa (Corpus Christi, Suicide Room). Starring Academy Award–nominated actress Diane Lane and Emmy winner Kyle Chandler, the film is set to arrive in theatres on October 29, 2025.
Storyline & Themes
Set against the backdrop of a deeply polarized America, Anniversary explores the fractures within one family that mirror larger societal divisions.
The story follows Ellen (Diane Lane) and Paul Taylor (Kyle Chandler), a long-married couple whose world unravels when Ellen’s former student Liz (Phoebe Dynevor) unexpectedly reenters their lives.
Liz is now romantically involved with their son Josh (Dylan O’Brien) — but she also carries with her the fervent ideals of “The Change,” a rising political movement that begins to drive a wedge between family members.
In the trailer, Ellen warns Paul about Liz’s intentions:
“Our son’s new girlfriend is a former student. She’s radical in her ideology.”
The tension escalates as Josh confronts his mother:
“Can you pretend to be happy for me? You couldn’t bend her your way — it drives you insane.”

Alongside Lane, Chandler, Dynevor, and O’Brien, the film also stars:
-
Madeline Brewer (The Handmaid’s Tale)
-
Zoey Deutch (Set It Up)

The screenplay is penned by Lori Rosene Gambino, adapted from a story by Gambino and Komasa himself.
